A Day In Bangkok

Location : Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Siam Paragon, Bangkok,Thailand

DAY 3
Hi everyone, I am so excited to share stories and photos from our vacation in Thailand last week. Sharing some beautiful memories is one of spread the positive aura, when people can get inspiration  and happy feelings. I hope you enjoy it :)

On the Day 3, Wednesday 26-03-14 we decided to visit Bangkok. yess we are so excited because this is our first time to Bangkok. Last year when we were on holiday in Pattaya, we didn't get to go to Bangkok, so for now we want to get there even though only a few hours because we had to go back to Pattaya. Trip to Bangkok about one and a half hour by taxi. We set off at 8.30 am and at 10 we were already there.
So, what place should we visit in Bangkok when we have only a very short time ? Only have a couple of hours, damn..no kidding, think fast what was THE MOST WE MUST VISIT ?? Should i only go for shopping and spend all that hours at the mall ? ( Sure i want to do that ) BUT this is our first time and we really want to see the Landmarks. I have searched a lot of information on google, there are lots of beautiful places to visit in Bangkok. And for a very first and short time in Bangkok, i've choose 5 my most favourite "want and must to" visit.
  1. Grand Palace & Wat Phra Kaew
  2. Wat Pho
  3. Wat Arun ( The Temple of Dawn )
  4. Chao Phraya River
  5. Siam Paragon Shopping Mall

Unfortunately our time is not enough to come to the five spots, and we were only able to visit three places.

1. Grand Palace & Wat Phra Kaew

I think this is the first must visit ( even though you only have time to visit one place, choose this one ). Traveling to Bangkok would not be complete without visiting the dazzling, spectacular Grand Palace, the city most famous landmark. Built in 1782 - and for 150 years the home of Thai King, the Royal court and the administrative seat of government. This place has beautiful architecture and intricate details.
Within the Palace complex are several impressive buildings including Wat Phra Kaew ( Temple of the Emerald Buddha ). Wat Phra Kaew, is the most important Buddhist temple in Thailand. It enshrines a highly revered Buddha image carved from a single block of jade. Amazing !
Note : The place is very spacious, you better bring your own drinks to avoid dehydration, and for this time, the sun is very strong hot, better bring an umbrella.

Important Note :
A strict dress code applies. The Grand Palace with The Temple of the Emerald Buddha is Thailand's most sacred site. Visitors must be properly dressed before being allowed entry to the temple. Men must wear long pants and shirts with sleeves (no tank tops. If you're wearing sandals or flip-flops you must wear socks (in other words, no bare feet.) Women must be similarly modestly dressed. No see-through clothes, bare shoulders, etc. If you show up at the front gate improperly dressed, there is a booth near the entrance that can provide clothes to cover you up properly (a deposit is required).

2. Wat Pho

Next door to the Grand Palace you’ll find the Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Pho). It’s the largest and oldest wat (temple) in Bangkok and, as the name suggests, is home to the enormous reclining Buddha. You’ll also find many more Buddha images at Wat Pho, which is said to have more statues of the Buddha than any other Bangkok temple. The Reclining Buddha was crafted to celebrate King Rama III’s restoration (1824 - 51). Long 46 m (150 ft ) and high 15 m ( 49 ft )  as the largest Buddha image in Thailand. The reclining Buddha is decorated with gold leaf and his eyes and foot soles are inlaid with mother-of-pearl. Amazing !

Inlaid with mother of pearl.

3. Siam Ocean World at Siam Paragon Shopping Mall

Last journey we decided to visit Siam Ocean World located inside the Siam Paragon Shopping mall. This is an aquarium in Bangkok, Thailand, and one of the largest in South East Asia. It covers approximately 10,000 square meters with hundreds of different species. They have many educational shows and attractions. If you just traveling to Bangkok with children this place is one of you must visit.

After a day of walked around and visited some beautiful places, before went back to Pattaya, we having dinner and enjoy Thai food. As everyone have noticed that Thailand is famous for its delicious food. Thai food is a must ! And we choose Peperry Thai Bistro in the Food Hall area of the mall. They served a very tasty delicious yummy  Thai food. This is a very recommended from us. We even can't stop eating :D

Thanks so much for reading & wish you a fabulous day !

xoxo
